AXON uses wearable vibrotactile tactile feedback to support situational awareness in combat aviation. In an environment where audiovisual sensory channels are often oversaturated, the system uses haptic cues on the torso to inform the user about potential threats in their direct environment. The project used an iterative design process where design decisions were directly informed by how users naturally interpret tactile feedback.
